Camping Info: Maps & Trails
The Haleakala National park has many places to camp, and many trails to walk and bike on. Campsites are only available by trail and you must purchase a permit on the day of arrival if you are camping for $19.99 per person at the information building or will be fined without a permit. There are 3 campsites throughout the park. They can all be found by following the main trail the Halamau'u that is 3 miles north of the headquarters building. The most popular campsite in the park is the Holua cabin or campground. If staying at a campground does not interest you, there are nearby hotels that might fit to your likings. The closest hotel to the park is the Aloha Cottages. It has very nice rooms and many enjoyable features. The 2nd closest hotel is the Maui Beach hotel, it has amazing rooms with beautiful ocean views.

The 3rd closest hotel is the Maui Seaside Hotel. It has great reviews and the staff will make your stay enjoyable. Remember, Haleakala has a policy of whatever you take into the park with you needs to leave with you so please keep the campsites and trails clean!
